Hugh Moore Park in Easton is a step-back-in-time of the National Canal System. Easton, Pa is beautiful, and tickets to the Hugh Moore park are offered in conjunction when you visit the Crayola Factory (see related article).
The highlight of the trip is a mule drawn boat ride on the Joshua White II, featured here. It is an antique restored canal vessel, and is pulled by mules walking parallel on the trail. Your tour guides are women dressed in period-appropriate attire lecturing on the canal system.
If you look down over the side of the Joshua White II you will see HUGE trout in their natural habitat. And the boat ride is so peaceful and quiet, you kind of want to just sit back and relax and take a nap, but you can’t over the tour guide’s rattle.
Still, a great must-do when visiting Crayola.
