Yaddo is an artist retreat located just off Exit 14 of I87 in Saratoga, NY. Every famous artist or author has stayed here. It is part mansion (closed to the public) where the artists stay; part rose garden, which is open to the public.
The gardens are stunning, flanked with sculptures and meandering streams.
Yaddo is so hidden I wonder how many people miss it. Literally, when you get off the northway at exit 14, go a few hundred yards and you will see a tiny driveway. Coming from the track, it’s just before the northway on your right.
