If you are looking for an exciting and adventurous way to spend the day, Wild Animal Safari is the place for you. The park is located in Pine Mountain, Georgia. Although it was a two-hour drive for me, it was well worth it and I definitely plan to return.

Wild Animal Safari allows you to drive through an actual safari setting with animals roaming free. Some of the animals you will encounter are giraffes, American Buffalo, Elk, Fallow Deer, Black buck, Gaur, Zebras, Ostriches, Emus, Rehas, and much more. The animals are friendly and will eat right out of your hands. Be aware that the zebras and ostriches do bite so you may want to throw the food for them or avoid them all together.

The three-mile stretch allows you to directly interact with the animals. There are bars in the open windows to allow you to touch and feed the animals. Slobber towels are offered for $3. I didn’t get one but wished I had by the time I was done.

You can rent a van, ride the bus, or take your own car through the park. The van rental is only $7 and is what I would strongly suggest. With the van, you are able to go through the park at your own pace and stop to take pictures. With the bus, you have no control over where you stop or for how long. I would strongly advise against taking your own vehicle through the park. I have seen animals seriously damage cars without meaning to.

There is also a walk through zoo. The more dangerous and wild animals are located there. Here you will find alligators, hyenas, kangaroos, black bears, timber wolves, primates, and more. There are shows and exhibits as well.

While you are at the park, check out the gift shop. They have a great variety of souvenirs that feature a number of animals. There is also a café with pizzas, subs, salads, hamburgers, hotdogs, and more. The kids (and adults) will enjoy the arcade. There is skeet ball, basketball, and more. Trade tickets in for prizes.

The park is open 364 days a year at 10 am. Closing times varies depending upon the time of year and the weather. It only closes on Christmas Day. No pets are allowed but kennels are provided if you have no choice but to bring your pet. Admission prices are $17.95 for adults, $14.95 for seniors (60+), and $14.95 for children ages 3-12. Ages 2 and under are free. For more information, visit www.animalsafari.com or call (800) 367-2751.
