About the Adirondack Scenic Railroad
With nearly 70 miles of track and stops in Utica, Thendara, Saranac Lake and Lake Placid, the Adirondack Scenic Railroad serves 50,000 passengers annually by showcasing some of the most pristine mountain terrain in remote areas of the Adirondacks. The Remsen-Lake Placid Historic Rail Corridor appears on the National Register of Historic Places. The Adirondack Scenic Railroad is an active historic railroad of the Adirondack Railway Preservation Society, a 501(c) (3) not-for-profit organization chartered by the NYS Education Department, charged with maintaining and restoring the railroad line from Utica to Lake Placid.
